Society is discussing new spelling rules

      In the city of Karaganda there is holding a public discussion of the spelling rules of the Kazakh language on the basis of the new alphabet approved by the «National Commission for the translation of the alphabet of the Kazakh language into Latin script» (the regulation was published in the Newspapers «Egemen Kazakhstan» on January 18, 2019 with the number №11, «Ortalyk Kazakhstan» January 19, 2019 with the number №6). The event is attended by scientists-philologists of higher educational institutions, specialists of city, district departments for culture and language development, responsible for languages and the introduction of the Latin alphabet, methodologists, teachers of language training centers, specialists of regional offices, responsible for the language, teachers of colleges and specialized schools.

      During the public discussion: head of the Department of training and methodological work on the transition to the Latin script of the Resource language center of the Language development administration Zhupar Zhakanova; associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh linguistics of Karaganda state University named after E.A. Buketov, candidate of philological Sciences Marhaba Tursynova; head of the Department of the Kazakh language and literature of the Karaganda «Bolashak» Academy, Professor, candidate of philological Sciences Kurmangazy Sembiev and the audience are making presentations on the spelling rules news in the and discussing the rules of spelling. Furthermore, such well-known linguists and socially active citizens as Bektursyn Kaliyev, Shara Mazhitaeva, Sabit Bekseit, Serik Mustafin are sharing their views and suggestions. Participants are asking questions to scientists and getting answers. At the end of the discussion, all suggestions of the participants will be collected and sent to the «National Commission for the translation of the alphabet of the Kazakh language into Latin script».
