On 26 November the Department of culture and development of languages of Zhezkazgan city held a scientific-practical conference on the theme «Қазақ әліпбиін кириллицадан латын графикасына көшірудің тиімділігі». Teachers, as well as representatives of the media and youth attended the conference.

Speakers at the conference reported on the advantages and disadvantages of alphabet variants approved and not yet approved since 2017, the role of the Kazakh alphabet in advertising and approved spelling rules.

Head of the language Resource center at the Languages development administration of the Karaganda region Zhakanova Zhupar in his report on «Латын графикасына көшудің стратегиясы» analyzed the role of the new alphabet in enhancing of the status of the Kazakh language and the preservation of national coloring of the language, the legitimacy of speech, the use and mastering of foreign words in accordance with the laws of consistency. In addition, the project of the Resource language center «Қазақша акцент» was presented to the attention of the audience.

At the end of the event, the winners of the essay contest written in Latin script were awarded.
